The story
In 2013, I traveled to South Africa and visited a famous waffle house in Ramsgate. As I come from Poland, gofr z bitą śmietaną ( waffle with whipped cream) is an integral part of a vacation at the Polish Baltic Sea. It became a dream to open a waffle house with delicious, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside Belgian waffles that remind me of home.
When I came to Sri Lanka and decided to build a hotel with Thushara, I knew I wanted to sell waffles here. I am lucky that my friend Celina is from the Polish Baltic Sea and knows the owner of the best waffle house in the Tri-City. He gave me his secret recipe. Celina, Thushara & I baked the first waffles together in October 2018 in Thushara’s mother’s kitchen and they were fantastic. Then it wasn’t long before my dream came true in January 2019. Brown Lady, Banana Fairy, Ananasi, Paconay, Fruits Queen were the first. One day a young woman visited us and said: “Would it be possible to get a waffle with Sri Lankan’s famous pancake filling”? “Of course!” was the answer.
We fulfilled her wish, and she was delighted. After Kristina enjoyed the waffle, we asked for her first name and où à la we also had a Coco Kristina on the menu with delicious, freshly grated coconut, roasted in honey and spice with wonderfully fragrant cinnamon and cardamom. The savory waffles such as Chili Cheese Scramble, Waffle meets Chicken Curry, Waffeled Burger, which we really got going in 2023, are also worth a try, especially the refined Pizza Waffle. We bake our delicious waffles for you every day and are constantly developing new creations without compromising on the classics.

We buy fresh fruit and vegetables in bio-quality on the local markets. The fish caught early in the morning by local fishermen help to make our individually prepared meals delight every customer.

The typical currys of the region are characteristic for his cuisine. Various and delicious. They are served with rice, curcuma, garlic, hot chili, peppers, cinnamon and leaves of the curry tree.
